Note: A full directory of endpoints/users will not be listed on a Polycom endpoint (as on Tandberg/Cisco endpoints).  Polycom requires you to enter characters and SEARCH for other users.

General Troubleshooting

If port 389 is blocked on your firewall you will not be able to connect to the directory server from your Polycom endpoint.

To verify, connect a computer to the same network as the Polycom video system.

Attempt to establish a telnet session with the phone book server with the following commands (note: you may need to enable Telnet on your Windows machine; see below)

In Windows 7 or Windows 10, click the 'start' button and type: cmd   [enter]

You should get a command prompt on a blank screen, see below if Telnet is not enabled on your machine (error message).

Type   telnet 389   [enter]

See below if Telnet is not enabled on your machine (error message).

If you are able to connect you should end up with a blank screen (a failure would show "Connecting To" and eventually time out).  You can close the window.

If the connection fails please contact your network administrator and request that port 389 be opened towards '' (IP Address
